C One of the great things about the Psion computers is
how easily they can be programmed.
This can be done on the Psion machine itself (using the built-in OPL editor) or by using a PC-based software development kit (SDK), software development environment (SDE) or Psion 'emulator'.
SIBO C SDK from PsionThere is a C Software Development Kit that was once available from Psion... here's as much as I've been able to track down:
The Clarion TopSpeed C Compiler is required for C software development. It is not easily available which is why I have linked to it here. If any author or company finds its software here which it believes should not be please contact me and it will be removed immediately. C Programming chapterLeigh Edwards includes a chapter on C Programming in his excellent book "Programming Psion Computers" (see books below). His advice is that "for application development in C the only realitisc option is to use the SIBO C SDK from Psion". CPOC"CPOC is a ANSI C development system for developing programs that can be used on the Psion 3a/3c. It is intended for use by those who do not want to spend the money required to obtain the Psion C SDK that is distributed by Psion. It is intended to provide a standard ANSI C environment and it does not give you access to all the facilities of the Psion EPOC operating system - if you want this we still recommend the Psion C SDK for this purpose." Although CPOC always generates code for the Psion 3a/3c machines, it
can actually run hosted on a variety of different operating systems:
Psion 3a/3c, Windows 95/NT, and Linux. |
